Which baler?
Nobody knows more about industrial balers than us. We can offer new balers of our own design or Excel balers built in the States plus a wide range of refurbished balers re-built to our own exacting standards. Considerable savings can be made here – and new or used all carry our 12 month guarantee. Since 1987 we have installed the well known Presona range of robust balers and are usually able to offer, or source, a rebuilt machine from their range shown below.

Choosing the right baler for your waste product is vital. The specification should cover:
- the type of product – paper, pams, cans, plastic, board, fabric etc
- the volume generated and throughput needed
- the location
- semi or fully automatic requirements
and your budget.

Middleton ME70: closed end. Ideal for LAs and small
distribution centres. Will handle
waste cans, PET bottles, magazines,
paper and board. Pressure of
70t produces a mill size bale
measuring1530mm x 760 x 1220mm. Entirely made in Somerset. This is at Plymouth MRF run by Severnside.

1- 4.5t/hr closed end, semi-automatic:
Excel. The EX62 horizontal shown here is a closed end design. Small footprint (9.5m x 2.3m, incl. conveyor). The closed end design enables a tight mill size bale to be produced with less power and less room than demanded by one of our large balers. Other Excel models available.

3-4t/hr, horizontal (low headroom) automatic:
Middleton's HB50 (horizontal). This innovative model is designed and built in Somerset and is ideal for low headroom situations. The initial prototype ran for 24 hours a day non-stop for six months at the UK's largest tissue maker. It has proved a popular choice for many customers.

EPS polybaler/shredder:
Our own make (two models) to convert polystyrene sheet into a highly compressed extrusion (47:1). Used by Comet, Mitsubishi, Mastercare etc. A baler which can repay its cost many times over. (Some of the first models we built 20 years ago are still performing).
