Materials Recovery Facilities |
|
With landfill taxes set to keep rising, Materials Recovery Facilities (or MRFs) are increasingly important in providing quality raw materials to industry. MRF capacity in the UK is growing but it is unevenly distributed and investment in further capacity will be needed as demand grows.
UK households currently produce around 35 million tonnes of waste each year, of which approximately 40% (14 million tonnes) is recycled, and yet the MRF capacity in the UK is only 4 million tonnes per year.
As Government targets for reycling increase, the demand for Materials Recovery Facilities is growing each year.
