Now you can string-tie
and wrap all your bales
of RDF/SRF: transform a
dusty, dirty product into
one that can be easily
stored and transported.
Take out the metal, glass, board and plastics and you’re left with a filthy, dusty and bulky material we know as RDF or SRF. The recycling industry has always had a problem with this - but no longer. A year’s development by Middleton Engineering has now produced a viable solution that the growing increase of Waste-to-Energy plants can use.
The photos here show our own design and make of pre-press baler with a force of some 60t - all made in our extensive works in Glastonbury. A special string-tying head has been developed (below) that is not only highly effective but avoids the problems of trying to incinerate bales tied with wire.

The bales are then passed to an automatic wrapper that within 30 seconds produces a tightly wrapped bale that can be easily stored and transported - overseas if necessary - resulting in a considerable saving in costs and ease of handling.
